One Visit Crowns

One Stop Crowns – Chestermere

A CEREC machine is a Chair side Economical Restoration of Esthetic Ceramics, or Ceramic Reconstruction. It is a dental restoration product that allows a dentist to produce an indirect ceramic dental restoration using a variety of computer assisted technologies, including 3D photography and CAD/CAM (Computer Aided Design/Computer Aided Manufacturing) technology. With CEREC teeth can be restored in a single sitting with the patient, rather than the multiple sittings required with many other techniques. It uses high-quality ceramic material that matches the natural colour of teeth. Additionally, crowns, veneers, onlays, and inlays can be prepared as well using different types of ceramic materials.

How Does it Work?

Dentists use a special camera called Omnicam to take an accurate image of the damaged tooth. This image is then transferred and displayed on a computer screen which then the dentist uses CAD at this step to design the restoration. CAM is the next step and automatically creates the patient’s restoration while they wait. Once the restoration is complete the dentist bonds it to the surface of the old tooth. This whole process takes between one to two hours.

How can CEREC Help You?

With CEREC, a tooth-colorued restoration means there is no more silver fillings or discolouring, leaking, or even cracked fillings. With the crown, it is completely compatible with the tissue in the mouth, it is natural-looking and made with anti-abrasive and plaque resistant materials. With this machine, it takes one visit to complete this whole restoration process, this is because the dentist no longer needs to take impressions and send them to a lab, or create you a temporary crown while you wait for the new one to come in. Powder-free ease of handling and natural colour reproduction are combined with the CEREC Omnicam to provide a fairly easy experience for the patient. CEREC 3D has over a decade of clinical research and restorations have been proven to be precise, safe, and effective. What this means for you as a patient at Ellis Dental is, one visit. No more two plus visits, you only get numb once for the whole procedure and you won’t have to settle with a temporary until the new restoration is completed.
